Lesley Ann Cruz

Yoga Instructor,  RYT 500
Lesley's first introduction to yoga came by way of her father at the age of four. Her father, a devotee of Paramahansa Yogananda practiced yoga and meditation for decades and infused the yoga teachings into her upbringing. By 2000, Lesley was an active yoga practitioner and began an in-depth study of the yoga teachings with the desire to disseminate the science. Since, she has completed over 700 hours of yoga teacher trainings in North America from the lineages of: Hatha Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Tantra Yoga, and Raja Yoga. Lesley is a student of Yogarupa Rod Stryker of ParaYoga from the lineage of the Himalayan Institute of yoga masters and a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance.

Lesley’s teaching focuses on the power of self-knowledge cultivated through a yoga practice. Yoga provides an awareness to clearly perceive yourself and the world around you. Lesley's yoga classes are a complete/ holistic approach to practice based on the principles of Vinyasa Krama, the energetics of a wise progression which skillfully integrates asana, pranayama, meditation and the yogic science. Lesley's main aim for the practitioner is to leave their mat with a better understanding of themselves with a positive affect on all aspects of mind, body, breath and soul. For one to cultivate: structural and mental stability; the ability to remain calm in the mists of turbulence and change; and to be physically and emotionally healthy.

When you don’t find Lesley on her meditation pillow or yoga mat, she is studying for a masters degree in yoga's sister science, Ayurvedic Science at Bastyr University in Washington state; growing herbs and veggies; or planning her next outdoor adventure.
